“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving” Ps 69:30
At dusk this morning about 30 yards from the house, I spotted a coyote sprinting through the deep, fresh snow. It’s so awe-inspiring to see the wildlife of America, through my window!
Today it snowed and snowed, so we shoveled and shoveled! Then a wonderful neighbor drove up and plowed the street and part of our driveway. We were so very thankful for thoughtful neighbors.
The temperature has been around -10’f, so I am thankful that our heating has been fixed. Yes, our brand-new heating system failed a few weeks ago and no-one could figure it out, so we froze! Then before we all turned into iclicles, our fabulous heating guy decided to do one last check on all the connections inside the pump and you will never guess what was wrong – A BIG FAT BEETLE had crawled inside and got himself stuck between two electrical connections. His shell was so thick that the power could not get to the heat pump! Have you ever heard of anything so bizarre? Only in Bonanza, Oregon, do we find beetles this sturdy. That is what my boys are telling me. Anyway, after shaking the bug out of there, the unit worked perfectly. No, I am not thankful for that bug. I am however super thankful for our clever heating guy who even thought to check for such a thing!
“So throw a log on the fire or crank up the heat, but stay warm and cozy – be thankful for HEAT!”
Blessings and stay warm, Kay
